I recently read...
that a certain group of people are flying to Canada to hunt polar bears to make into living room rugs. The hunting company says the bears are dying anyway so you might as well make use of them. Also, the hunt leaders are saying they are actually doing polar bears a favor by shooting them as this means fewer adult male polar bears are eating baby polar bears. Thirdly, the hunting company proudly claims that while hunting polar bears, their clients are learning conservation.
With 20,000-25,000 polar bears left and 500 of them being killed per year through hunting and more dying of starvation due to global warming, we have about 50 years of polar bears left.
It is human nature to forget what we don’t see. I wrote this book so people don’t forget about polar bears. I think they are worth saving.
